Wytheville students are scheduled to get 14 free guitars

Free Guitars for Kids is scheduled to give guitars to 14 students in grades 6 through 12 at enCircle's Minnick School in Wytheville, WDBJ7 reported. Each student is set to receive a guitar, a gig bag, a tuner, and a strap. The school is among the first to get the group's newer guitar model. The giveaway was set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, at 425 Grayson Road, so the instruments had not been handed out when the station published the story.

A code inside each guitar is meant to open online lessons, songwriting contests, and notes from working musicians. Principal Jane Hall said music can give students another way to express themselves, including students who have a hard time communicating in other ways. Minnick schools are special-education day schools for students ages 5 to 22.
