A library in Thornton is lending the outdoors, not only the books about it. KUNC reported on September 30, 2026, that Anythink Nature Library opened on August 8 with a simple aim: make it easier to get outside. Patrons can check out books and rentable outdoor gear, or walk a trail on the open space just beyond the branch.
Mark Fink, executive director of Anythink Libraries, the district that serves Adams County, talked with KUNC's Erin O'Toole about why a nature library belongs in Colorado and how people have responded. The idea is that a camping trip should not depend on already owning the equipment.
