Sigourney FFA won the team title at the Iowa FFA soil-judging contest at Iowa State University. KCII Radio reported on October 10, 2026, that 30 teams competed, each of them a top-five finisher from its district. Students filled out a scorecard on a soil profile, and a soil scientist graded the answers.

Dayne Chittick took first place individually. Teammates Rex Flynn and Cooper Moore placed third and seventh. Keota also finished in the top 10. Sigourney and the other four Iowa schools in the top five advance to the national contest in Oklahoma next May.
