A wing of the old Union High School that Shalom Zone could not use is now finished space. Gallatin News reported on October 8, 2026, that DPR Construction and local trade partners donated time and materials totaling more than $600,000. The work grew out of six years of collaboration between DPR senior project manager Mary Lou Kelly and executive director Bethany Sullivan, including a series of volunteer days the company called Service Septembers. The last of those days this year was October 2.
The renovated rooms include a coding and robotics room, a multipurpose room, and a game room, plus computers DPR donated. Sullivan said the wing more than doubles the space Shalom Zone can use. The nonprofit already runs a hygiene pantry, a community library, a computer lab, and Gallatin's Toys for Tots drive.
