Conway held its first Float with the Flame on Saturday at the Conway Community Center, a swim relay that raised $5,610 for Special Olympics of Arkansas. TriArk Radio reported on October 10, 2026, that more than 100 people took part, from 8-year-olds to University of Central Arkansas students and local first responders.
A UCA team, Fast and Floatatious, won the first champion title. Faulkner County Emergency Squad members swam too. Maj. Jerry Smith said their usual work is swift water, which is a different kind of swimming, and that they plan to come back next year.
