Will Richards of Holladay spent 118 days walking the length of Japan, from Cape Soya in the north to Cape Sata in the south, to raise awareness of asthma and to honor his father. Partway along the route, his grandfather showed up and surprised him.
Richards also founded the Kickin' Asthma Half Marathon, set for Oct. 24, to raise money for asthma research. The walk is finished. The race is the next way he is pointing people toward that research.
