Hundo left Cincinnati on Oct. 12 for the Jacksonville Zoo, where he will finish rehab before a winter release in Florida, FOX19 reported. He arrived at the Cincinnati Zoo in November 2025 as an orphaned calf weighing about 150 pounds. By Oct. 14 he weighed 546 pounds.

The zoo's Manatee Springs then took in three more orphaned calves: Tuglet, rescued at 42 pounds and now about 365; Smidge, rescued at 43 pounds and now about 353; and Zimomo, rescued at 47 pounds and now about 368. The Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation Partnership helped bring all of them in. Curator Kim Scott said the zoo is ready to start their rehab. They are still in care. They are not back in the wild.
