Associates from the Lowe's in Arden spent money and hours at the Salvation Army's West Asheville community center, WLOS reported. They repainted the playground fence and installed patio pavers under a shelter.
Capt. Philip Stokes of the Salvation Army of Asheville called it a start on being more present in the neighborhood. Store manager Joe Strong said helping locally is what the crew is there to do. The station said the same associates were also lined up for projects in Fletcher and Swannanoa in the coming week.
